Can you be both a mental health professional and someone who struggles with mental illness? Absolutely!
In this bold and deeply personal memoir, Allyson Tomchin, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker shatters stigmas by sharing her own journey with bipolar disorder—all while successfully running a business, raising a family, and leading a fulfilling life. With humor, honesty, and a refreshingly unfiltered voice, she challenges the mental health field to practice what it preaches—that people with mental illness are not only capable but can thrive.
This book is a call to embrace authenticity and reject the pressure to appear “fine.” With a Solution Focused Approach, it helps us recognize that solutions lie in acknowledging our struggles while leveraging our strengths. Through a mix of heartfelt and humorous stories, Allyson weaves together resilience, adaptation, and the power of self-acceptance—universal lessons for anyone navigating life’s challenges.
Insightful and uplifting, this memoir is more than just one woman’s story—it’s a movement toward greater understanding, compassion, and growth.
